Bellefonte mercy-rules Tyrone in 6 innings; JV offense dominates

The Red Raiders tallied 8 runs in the first two innings to put the game away Tuesday at Tyrone. The game ended after 6 innings, 10-0.

4 Bellefonte pitchers combined to hold the Golden Eagles to just 2 hits. Adam Armstrong got the start and the win going 2 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 3. Ashton Wetzler, Tyler Kreger and Kalen Schvenke went 2, 1, 1 innings respectively.

Bellefonte collected 10 hits on the day. Cayden Lucas was 2-4 with 2 singles on the day, scoring once. 8 other hitters had a hit apiece.

The Red Raiders finished the regular season at 10-8, earning the #4 seed in the PIAA 4A district 5/6 playoffs. Bellefonte will host Greater Johnstown in a play-in game Thursday at 4pm. The winner will travel to face #1 seed Somerset Monday.

JV offense dominates

The Red Raider JV team scored 8 runs in the 1st, 18 runs in the 2nd, and 4 runs in the 3rd, on their way to a 3 inning victory over Tyrone. The offense had 11 different players collect base hits in the victory. Top hitters included Gunner Fravel (3 singles, 4 RBI’s, and 4 runs), Corby Koleno (Double, Single and 2RBI’s), Shawn Carey (2 singles, 2RBI’s, and 4 runs), Clayton McClellan (4RBI’s), and Mason Grey (3RBI’s and 4 runs). Austin Greene earned the victory on the mound pitching 2 efficient shut out innings. The JV squad will wrap up their season Friday with an away game at State College.
